传奇的变形金刚英雄——擎天柱的配音演员Peter Cullen于当地时间2026年8月26日在洛杉矶家中逝世，享年85岁。
Peter Cullen曾在多部变形金刚系列作品中为擎天柱一角配音，包括G1 TV系列（1984-1987）和G1 大电影（1986）、《Transformers: Prime》（2010年起）、真人版电影《变形金刚》系列（2007、2009、2011、2014、2017、2023）和《大黄蜂》（2018），以及《War for Cybertron Trilogy》和《Transformers: Devastation》等游戏，可以说在40变形金刚历史中，是官方指定和民间认可的擎天柱唯一指定配音员，其深沉、威严、充满正义而又温柔无比、富有磁性的声线，与擎天柱这一拥有伟大人格魅力领袖角色相互成就，永远铭刻在变迷们的脑海和记忆中。
Peter Cullen在整个生涯中为超过50位动画角色配音，长期与Frank Welker合作，后者是动画界配音大神，光在变形金刚G1系列中就配过威震天、惊破天、声波、爵士、闹翻天、淤泥、大无畏、轰隆隆、开路先锋、幻影、激光鸟、机器狗、机器蝙蝠、迷乱、搅拌机、鲨鱼精、刀刃、车辙、垃圾星人、钢钳、扫荡队、转轮及其他配角和生物等。
虽然在全球范围内Peter Cullen的声音更有辨识度和认可度，但是作为一个80后中国人，雷长喜老师的擎天柱才是第一选择。上译厂88年引入变形金刚G1前三季，不仅翻译方面花费了大量心血和心思，是信且达而雅俗共赏的标杆，又配备了豪华的配音阵容：雷长喜，杨文元，李丹青，陈醇，林栋甫，徐虹等诸位老师的演绎，堪称入木三分，今天重温仍然令人感动。雷长喜的声线比Cullen的原声要显年轻，但是更有沧桑感，而杨文元的威震天个人感觉比原声更贴合角色，陈丹青配的红蜘蛛尖酸中带着一丝沙哑远好于原配，林栋甫对声波的创新演绎可谓一大亮点，等等。可惜雷长喜老师1992年因病去世，杨文元老师2000年去世，无法再为后续变形金刚中擎天柱、威震天配音，但是B站上仍有很多Up主孜孜不倦的用AI来还原新片里雷长喜老师的声音。
